Freedom for Oil
by Redde'N
I won't take
your freedom for oil.
And I won't kill for
foreign soil.
I won't live your
American dreams.
I won't dream for
your American things.
And how would you
like to live for
my car?
With dreams like these
how can we get very far?
We'd all starve.
I won't take
your freedom for oil.
I won't work for
your American toil.
What happened to
the riots and shouts,
the good looking singers
with their shiney peace belts?
Why so quiet?
Why all the closed mouths?
You can censor us
all out but,
just how long before
real Americans scream
and they shout:
I won't take your
freedom for oil.
Bring our people back
to their home soil.
I won't live for your
American dreams,
not while I can still hear
far away American screams.
You think cause
the bombs stopped
falling there's
nothing left to shout about?
You think cause
you say you won
it makes it more legitimate?
Are you Americans or
just a bunch of half - wits?
And what happened to us,
what happened to the Canadians?
Why is it that racism
and sexual discrimination
are the only things
we hold parades against?
I say this to everyone,
our works not done.
For the love of life
don't cock the hammer,
don't fire that gun.
Should we all work together
it could mean utopia for
everyone.
